Practical Nursing

Practical Nursing (PN) Program strives to provide students with an educational experience that is cutting edge and industry driven.  The students are challenged to integrate critical thinking and clinical judgement to make valid nursing decisions in providing client care.  The PN Program proceeds at a fast pace and needs the students to be self-disciplined and active learners.

Practical Nursing Program Details

Who can Attend: Adults
Total Hours Required: 1465 clock hours
Financial Aid Eligibility: This program is eligible for financial aid such as Pell Grant, Work Investment Act (WIA), Oklahoma Tuition Aid Program (OTAG), Vocational Rehab, and Health Care Workforce Training Commission Scholarships.
Salary Range for Graduates: In Oklahoma can earn an average of $44,920 per year (or $21.59 per hour).
Licensure/Certificate:
  • National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX) for Practical Nursing to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Entrance Requirements: Due to limited enrollment, a selective admission process is used.  Specific criteria are listed in the PN Application Packet, which can be accessed below.  All applicants must have a current nurse aide certificate or have taken and passed a nurse aide course within the last 5 years.  Also required is a high school diploma, GED, or a state issued high school equivalency document.

Curriculum, Uniforms, Lab Fees, Background Checks, Drug Screens, Professional Liability Insurance, Computer, are also fees that vary each year.
