Cosmetology Sayre
The primary purpose of the cosmetology career major is to train students in basic entry-level skills, knowledge, and ability in the field of cosmetology and related occupations. The program is divided into two parts, theory and practical. Theory is covered in the classroom with lectures, audio, and visual aids, textbooks, workbooks, and computer-based learning. Practical skills are taught on the clinic floor and student salon. Both theory and practical skills cover hair care, skin care, and nail care. In addition to theory and practical skills the student will be instructed in job safety, proper work habits, Oklahoma laws related to cosmetology, and how to obtain gainful employment after licensure.
