Bus Driver - Elk City to Burns Flat Campus and Return
Full time: Full time position eligible for benefits including health, dental, vision, life and supplemental insurance, as well as Teachers' Retirement Pension, 403(b) and Education Assistance. The premium cost of employee health and dental insurance and all OTRS contributions are paid by WTC.
This position could be 10 months annually (August through May each year) or 12 months annually (July through June each year). Includes sick leave, personal leave and paid holidays. May include paid vacation.

Minimum Class B CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements P and S; and no air brake restriction (L) required.
PRIMARY FUNCTION: BUS DRIVER: Safely transport students to and from Western Technology Center campus(es) and authorized field trips/excursions in accordance with DOT requirements and WTC policy/procedure. This route runs from Elk City to Burns Flat and back twice per school day (morning and afternoon). Work day begins and ends in Elk City.
SECONDARY FUNCTION: To be determined. Possibly custodial or clerical, depending upon the applicant's skill set.

Administrative Assistant and Activity Fund Custodian - Hobart Campus

Full Time, 12 months annually: Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Eligible for benefits including health, dental, vision, life, supplemental insurance, Teachers' Retirement Pension, 403(b), Education Assistance, paid sick leave, personal leave, vacation and holidays. PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Hobart campus Administrative Assistant will schedule meeting rooms, meet the public, enroll students in classes, receipt tuition and answer all incoming telephone calls. Coordinates use of facility and is responsible for all other clerical assignments. Activity Fund Custodian duties include all aspects of reconciling, receipting, tracking, data entry and audit preparation of all money and documents in the activity fund pertaining to the Hobart campus.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
REPORTS TO: This is a staff position assigned to the BIS Campus Director of Business and Industry Services, who is responsible for supervision and evaluation. This position is evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on performance appraisal reviews.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Prefer training from a Technology Center or college and related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer and secretarial organization skills required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a current and valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and be legally authorized to work in the United States.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or Boards of Directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
1. Routes incoming messages and mail to the appropriate staff member.
2. Proofread and correct drafts for grammar, punctuation, and spelling in order to produce error-free work.
3. Take notes for staff members as required.
4. Prepares routine correspondence as directed.
5. Responsible for filing records and other correspondence.
6. Maintains organizational files and records.
7. Maintains switchboard, gives information to callers and routes calls.
8. Schedules classrooms and meeting rooms.
9. Greets visitors, ascertains nature of business and directs visitors to appropriate Western Technology Center staff member.
10. Prepares informational and statistical reports.
11. Makes copies as directed.
12. Prepares and routes participant enrollment forms.
13. Collects W-4 and I-9 documentation for adjunct instructors.
14. Manages and prepares VISA and MASTERCARD enrollment forms.
15. Prepares classrooms and/or meeting rooms for use. This will include having appropriate equipment available, seeing that refreshments are available, seating arrangement is as required, and instructional material is ready and any other needs that are requested. Classrooms should be neat and clean before any classes.
16. Orders and maintains curriculum and office supplies.
17. Assists with the Hobart Campus inventory. Tracks the addition of new equipment and the transfer or disposal of surplus equipment.
18. Collects, receipts and prepares deposits for the daily payments of students, curriculum and materials.
19. Verifies and documents receipts for materials and tuition for Business Office Manager.
20. Prepares outgoing correspondence and mails.
21. Prepares flyers, brochures and other special projects as assigned.
22. Participates as required in staff meetings, training and functions as directed.
23. Prepares Purchase Orders/Requisitions prior to acquisition.
24. Responsible for unlocking and locking building (first one in/last one out).
25. Assure that students and instructors are knowledgeable of emergency procedures in the event of fire, intruder or storm.
26. Maintain a professional attitude and appearance when representing Western Technology Center.
27. Performs other duties as may be assigned.
28. Assist Adult Coordinator in recruiting Short-Term Instructors.
29. Collect ideas and information for new Short-Term classes.
30. As directed, assist with hiring Short-Term Class Instructors.
31. Order books and materials for classes.
32. Assist in the evaluation process of Short-Term Instructors
33. Maintains high level of communications with staff and administration.

Financial Administrative Assistant: Accounts Payable Clerk and Receptionist - Burns Flat Campus

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Assist the chief financial officer in performing financial duties of the school, which may include using school accounting software to issue purchase orders on requisitions approved by administration, input monthly invoices received from vendors, create work file so warrants can be issued to vendors, back up accounts receivable as needed, cross-train in other financial duties as time permits, and carry out other duties as assigned by the superintendent and chief financial officer.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
REPORTS TO: Under the direction of the chief financial officer (CFO) who is responsible for supervision and evaluation. Evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the board's policy on performance appraisal reviews for support staff.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: One or two-year certificate from college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Oklahoma Driver’s License; notary helpful; must be bondable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and accounting.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but basic written or oral instructions. Ability to critically think and deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Thorough knowledge of general office practices and procedures. Ability to deal effectively with the public and school officials. Good working knowledge of the operating practices of technology education. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to establish good rapport with department staff, users, vendors, and others are essential. Must be able to type or keyboard, file, ten‑key by touch, use copy machine, scanner, and fax. Ability to learn and use various computer software applications. Ability to work under the pressure of a time schedule. Computer skills: proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Take initiative to perform tasks necessary to keep the building operating smoothly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: These duties may be the sole responsibility of the Financial Assistant, or they may be shared between the Financial Assistant and other financial staff.
1. Greet visitors to the building and direct them to appropriate personnel.
2. Answer calls, receive messages, and route to the appropriate person.
3. Issue purchase orders following laws and procedures of Oklahoma and Western Technology Center and input into accounting software.
4. Open mail/email and determine if invoice has been paid - check the work file to determine if packing slip has been received; check requisition file to see who has placed the order.
5. Input all completed invoices into accounting software preparatory to issuing payment.
6. Prepare and mail affidavits and W9s to vendors.
7. Answer any correspondence from vendors.
8. Correctly file invoices and purchase orders in the completion files.
9. Track office supply inventory for the finance building and order supplies when necessary.
10. Lock front doors at the end of the day.
11. Coordinate lunch period with finance staff so that the building may remain open during lunch time.
12. Cross-train in other financial duties as time permits and under the direction of the CFO in order to assist or backup other financial staff at times in order to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods, or to otherwise balance the workload.
13. Back up Activity Fund Custodian when necessary, which may include collecting and receipting funds, preparing activity fund deposits, and issuing purchase orders and checks.
14. Take deposit to the bank if necessary.
15. Carry out other duties as assigned by the CFO and Superintendent.
